Arts Richmond Hill and Baoan District Committee of Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference present Artist Wenji Shi Chinese Painting Art Exhibition.

　　This grand opening is followed by a public exhibition at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts June 22 to June 30

　　Theme: Celebrating our International Cultural Diversity: Showcasing Art Exhibition from China & Building Communities of Goodwill and Friendship Through Art.

　　Preface

　　This art exhibition aims to further strengthen the foreign culture exchange, share ideas and studies on the calligraphy and painting among the artist from China and the artists, calligraphers and people who love arts.

　　Artist Wenji Shi at present is a member of Chinese Artists Association, a member of Chinese Calligraphers Association, Vice President of Shenzhen Artists Association, President of Shenzhen Baoan Artists Association, a leading role, well recognized and accomplished artist in Shenzhen calligraphy industry.

　　Wenji Shi's art works are gentle outside but strong inside with deep meaning, charm and harmony, compact arrangements, condense and concise; each flower, each leaf, each bird and each stone created in his paintings shows the life status in relax, peace and harmony leading to a simple, beautiful, classic, elegant and unbounded artistic world.

　　There are 40 new art works specially created for the art exhibition this time. He kept his usual creative style but developed a richer and refined painting language to make the painting structure and arrangement more clear and neat, the choice of images more precise. The traditional landscape painting style is themed on simplicity, distance, peace and harmony, but he slightly added a touch of blue and green to make the painting colours thicker and enhanced, spectacular mountains ample and full, the water color tone rhymed and the artistic expressions contented. His flower-bird paintings are meaningful and cheerful, charming and graceful in a fresh style different from the traditional one emphasized on the purity and beauty. His figure paintings are briefly outlined with vivid poise and charm, characters and personalities.

　　There are rich images and a perceptual full of life in the art works created by Artist Wenji Shi. His painting language is cheerful, enthusiastic and elegant with broad implications, always filled with the human touch concerns profoundly. Most importantly his paintings revealed his sincere, free and easy true feelings. His art works are so natural that it is easy to attract people to share and enjoy his artistic world together.

　　The artistic pursue will be forever without limits. We hope that through this attempt and exchange opportunity, offer a few ordinary introductory remarks so that others may offer their valuable ideas. We open to learn and take the best opinions to promote the vigorous development of Shenzhen Baoan calligraphy and painting creations.

　　About the Artist:

　　Mr. Shi learnt and practised calligraphy and paintings from family members at young age. He pursued his advanced studies and graduated from Xi’an Fine Arts Academy, specialized in Traditional Chinese Painting.

　　Mr. Shi has participated in domestic and foreign large Art Exhibitions and won awards for many times. His art pieces were collected by the Great Hall of the People, the Chairman Mao Memorial, Chinese Sino-Japanese War memorial, US, Russia, France, Britain, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, other countries and regions' museums. His art works also collected by Henan Hanyuan, Song Lin, Hebei Huolu and Shaanxi Dong Lake for stele forests and stone engravings. CCTV and Central People's Broadcasting Station, Shandong Television station, People's Daily, "Guangming Daily", "Calligraphy", "Shenzhen Special Zone", "Fine arts Observation", "Descendants of Yan & Yellow Emperors" and many other media once made special coverage to his calligraphy, painting and seal cutting art works.
